The Me Too movement (or #MeToo movement), with many local and international faces, is a movement against sexual harassment and sexual assault.
#MeToo gone virally in October 2017 as a hashtag used on social media. Tarana Burke, an American social activist, and community organizer began using the phrase “Me Too” as early as 2006, and the phrase was later popularized by American actress Alyssa Milano, on Twitter in 2017.
The Bollywood industry in India looks very clean and clear from outside but many things happen in the background when it comes to the career growth and growth of individual. We came across many cases like casting couch, sexual assault etc.
Recently The Tanushree-Nana case comes into picture where Tanushree put sexual allegations on Nana which was 10 years back story. Soon after this #metoo movement started in India, many people supported the #metoo through social media. This movement not only brought the real faces in front of peoples but it also allows people to speak up and raise voice which was buried for many years.
We hope this movement will definitely bring some changes in society and the mindset of people and in some way people with insane mindset will not dare to take any wrong step.
It will also help in minimising the incedents happen in many industries including Bollywood. Our women would be more safe and live peacefully and happily.
