Recently we got to know, the newly elected Prime minister of Pakistan Imran Khan has invited three former cricketers Navjot Singh Siddhu, Kapil Dev, and Sunil Gavaskar from India for his swearing-in ceremony which is going to happen on 18th of August. However, the buzz is still around who all are traveling to Pakistan? Let us clear you the story.
Recently Gavaskar expressed his regret due to prior scheduling commitments, we do not see any response from Kapil Dev yet.
Navjot Singh Sidhu, on the other hand, accepted Imran Khan invite and he said, “it’s a great honor for me. Imran is a great leader and an extraordinary Human being”. Look at the video where he accepts the invitation.
Sidhu already got the green signal from the Punjab government where he serves as the Minister of Local Government, Tourism, Cultural Affairs and Museums. However; he needs a clearance from the Central government too.
Earlier today Sidhu also met the Pakistani High Commission officials expressing his desire to travel to Pakistan. He said, “I have applied for the political clearance from the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA). However, there is no response from the Ministry as of yet.”. Watch the video here:
Sources told that minister Sidhu is likely to get the Center’s clearance to travel to Pakistan for the oath-taking ceremony and soon he will get the visa.
Looks like Navjot Singh Sidhu is only Indian all set to attend the oath ceremony of Imran Khan. The invitations could be extended to the diplomats in the Indian High Commission, however, there is no clarity on that front.
We hope Sidhu’s travel to Pakistan would minimize the differences and we see a ray of hope in this drowning relationships of both the countries. Leaders from both the countries should understand the differences and the problems instead of pointing to each other.
We wish Imran Khan appointment would bring a little positivity in the relationship and we are sure moving forward both the nation will think towards the betterment of each other and their relationship.
We hope to see the trade of goods not of weapons, exchange of people not of terrorism, a love towards each other instead of hatred.
We wish Imran Khan a great success ahead. Hope he will work towards the betterment of his country and his people. Also, being a great leader, we are sure, he will work towards the betterment of relations with neighboring countries.
